Jivya Soma Mashe
Jivya Soma Mashe transformed Warli from a primarily ritual wall tradition into a recognised contemporary art practice. Working from the Dahanu–Palghar region, he developed an intensely personal vocabulary of village life, movement and nature. His international exhibitions and teaching helped establish Warli painting as a major Indian tribal art form.
