House of Cashmere works with a cooperative of forty spinners and weavers across Srinagar, all trained in traditional Changthangi pashmina processing. The label was founded in 2011 to give that cooperative direct access to a wider market — before that, most of its work was sold through middlemen at a fraction of its value.
