Mahasundari Devi

Mahasundari Devi was a celebrated Mithila artist who began with ceremonial wall painting and later worked extensively on paper and public commissions. She helped organise artisans through a cooperative and trained younger family members and craft practitioners. Her practice extended beyond painting to Sujani and Sikki, reflecting the interconnected craft culture of Mithila.
